Intune App Configuration Policy Reporting, an essential feature of Microsoft Intune, equips administrators with valuable insights and data concerning the deployment of configuration policies on enrolled devices for managed apps.

Microsoft Intune has implemented a new Plan for Change to update Intune app configuration policy reporting. These updates have been gradually released since early July, primarily focusing on improving the User Interface (UI). It’s worth noting that these changes do not currently impact the associated Microsoft Graph APIs.

If the question arises regarding the impact of the change, it is anticipated that there will be no impact on the tenant except for the inclusion of UI enhancements. The change will provide you with valuable experience in enhancing functionality. For users utilizing app configuration policy reports, it is advised to utilize the Device install status report for monitoring policy delivery.

Intune Message Center offers a convenient way to access informational communications directly from the Intune team. It provides you with comprehensive details, including messages about recent changes or upcoming updates to the Intune service specific to your tenant.

Revised Plan: Enhancements in App Config Policy Reporting

In early July 2023, Updates to app configuration policy reporting to improve the Microsoft Intune reporting infrastructure will include several user interface (UI) changes in the Microsoft Intune admin center for app configuration policy reporting.

App configuration policies can help you eliminate app setup problems by letting you assign configuration settings to a policy that is assigned to end-users before they run the app. The settings are then supplied automatically when the app is configured on the end-users device, and end-users don’t need to take action.

What’s New Enhancement in Intune App Configuration Policy Report

The app utilizes the assigned configuration policy settings when it checks configuration settings. This typically occurs during the initial launch of the app. To access the configuration policy reporting feature in the Microsoft Intune admin center, navigate to Apps > App configuration policies.

Note- the device experience may vary if you have already opted in for the new experience. To enable and explore the new Devices Experience in Intune, which offers enhanced device checking and enrollment features.

Within the App Configuration policies feature, you can choose a policy specifically for apps on a managed device. This allows you to create and utilize app configuration policies to provide configuration settings for both iOS/iPadOS and Android Apps.

These configuration settings enable the customization and management of individual apps through app configuration. Each app can have its unique configuration settings, allowing for personalized and tailored app experiences.
