Microsoft Teams Premium is officially available, and its intelligent use of AI may alter the nature of meetings forever.

The most popular thing on the internet right now is OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and it’s all about its features and abilities. Microsoft put a lot of money into the project right when it started to become popular before any of its competitors had even thought of doing so.

OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 is one of Microsoft’s new premium features. Initially announced in October of last year, Microsoft’s Premium edition of Teams has been available for preview since December 16th. The company is offering a discount on Teams Premium for the next five months in honour of the product’s official launch. Microsoft has also added more features to make your meetings smarter, safer, and more personalised.

Microsoft unveils AI-powered Microsoft Teams Premium

In a statement announcing the wide release of Microsoft Teams Premium, the company’s advisors said. Now, more than ever, enterprises need tools to adapt to change, boost productivity, and cut costs.

Microsoft’s main goal in adding the Large Language Models that power the OpenAI chatbot ChatGPT to Teams Premium was to make every meeting more “intelligent, personalised, and secure.”

Transform virtual team engagement with Microsoft’s AI-powered intelligent Recap – a revolution in online meetings and webinars.

Intelligent Recap Described

Microsoft Teams Premium has a feature called “Intelligent Recap,” which uses artificial intelligence to summarise virtual meetings and the most important points. The Intelligent Recap is made automatically after a meeting. It includes information like the most important decisions, the next steps to be taken, and the most important things discussed.

Using GPT-3.5, the new feature will keep track of your meeting notes and suggest tasks and actions based on what was discussed.

According to Microsoft, “AI-generated chapters break the conference into portions, allowing you to pick and select the material that is most essential to you.” This is in addition to the previously mentioned capability of automatic note-taking and task-suggesting.

There will also be personalised time markers that show when you joined and left the meeting, as well as when your name was said or when you shared your screen.

Teams Premium lets you translate 40 spoken languages in real-time, and the best part is that only the meeting host needs Microsoft Teams Premium for this feature to work.

What else does Microsoft Teams Premium Include?

Even though “intelligent recap” is getting all the attention, Microsoft’s new platform is getting a lot of other interesting features as well.

Advanced meeting security features, like watermarking, have been added to prevent users of Teams from leaking sensitive information. You can now turn on end-to-end encryption for your most important meetings. You’ll be able to choose who can record your discussions.

But that’s not the end of it. You’ll also be able to host webinars and let guest speakers sit in your virtual green room prior to going on stage.

Also, Microsoft’s Enterprise Content Delivery Network (eCDN) is now part of Microsoft Teams Premium. Teams Live Events allows you to “live broadcast global meetings, all-hands gatherings, and town halls, and disseminate company-wide training..

Microsoft Teams Premium with AI-Powered — how much does it cost?

AI-powered Microsoft Teams Premium package, which uses artificial intelligence, will cost $10 per user per month. But Microsoft says you can buy it for just $7 per user per month until June 30, 2023.

By comparison, Microsoft Teams Fundamentals, the most basic software version, costs only $4 per user per month. In addition to the free plan, there are two paid plans: the Business Basic plan (at $6 per user per month) and the Teams Business Standard plan (at $12.50 per user per month).

ChatGPT integration with other projects by Microsoft

Microsoft has recently unveiled Azure OpenAI, a service aimed at developers that provides access to OpenAI technologies. This is including the GPT-9 language model. Azure OpenAI also comes equipped with tools to aid beginners in developing their own applications and a graphic design app. All of these are built using OpenAI technologies. Reports have also indicated that Microsoft is incorporating ChatGPT into Bing’s search engine to enhance its capabilities.

Does Microsoft Teams Premium exist worth it?

Intelligent Recap seems like a service that would truly help many organisations. Particularly those currently using Microsoft Teams and have space in their budget to upgrade.

The largest advantage of AI-powered features like these is that they spare people time that can then be focused on jobs that AI can’t accomplish (for now, anyhow) (for now, anyway).

Most best project management programs already have tools. This enables customers to automate routine parts of their workforce functions.

However, the advent of helpful and apparently unstoppable AI-powered software like ChatGPT has sent shockwaves through the IT sector. Either adapt to the changing world around you or starve.
